Ailsa Lamont is the director and founder of Pomegranate Global, a specialist consultancy and program provider focusing on how the climate crisis can be transformed into an opportunity to improve the field of international education. Pomegranate Global runs a range of climate action virtual internships and helps clients to embed climate action in strategy and to reshape global mobility and international student recruitment operations to reduce their carbon footprint Her expertise in the sector was gained over 16 years in senior international roles, including as Pro Vice Chancellor International, and International Director at three Australian universities. Ailsa Lamont has trained with former US Vice President Al Gore as a Climate Reality Leader and in 2020-2021 served as a NAFSA Senior Fellow for sustainability. She is co-founder and current president of CANIE: Climate Action Network for International Educators, a non-profit working to strengthen the international education sector’s response to the climate challenge.
