Shine with Skills Foundation
We are delighted to be supporting the Shine With Skills Foundation through The PIEoneer Awards 2023.
Shine With Skills Foundation was founded in 2018 by Francis Ishenda and Immaculate Mukawumbya in Jinja, Uganda - later becoming a registered charity/NGO in 2019.
Their mission is to support, empower and sustain the livelihoods of youths in marginalised communities in Jinja. They aim to support orphans, young mothers, victims of domestic abuse and sexual exploitation.
Through their free vocational training programs they empower youths to become financially independent. These programs are built to give them a kick-start in either setting up their own businesses or to enhance their employability.
They provide free vocational training in craft making, tailoring, welding, caged fish farming, computer training and hairdressing. To date, Shine With Skills Foundation has supported over a thousand women, launched six skilling programs and worked with over a hundred thousand people across various project initiatives.
