We are very much looking forward to welcoming you in-person at The PIEoneer Awards 2021. Your health and safety are paramount to us, and we want all our guests who have chosen to attend to be able to relax and enjoy the event. As such, please find below details of the measures that we, and our venue, have put in place to enable this to happen.
Lateral flow testing
We request that all guests, including those who have been double vaccinated, take a lateral flow test within 24-hours of the event starting, to ensure you have tested negative before attending. Tests can be collected at a local pharmacy. Anyone who records a positive test should not attend the awards. You should also not attend if you or anyone in your household is demonstrating any Covid-19 symptoms.
We will have testing kits available on site for anyone who needs one.
All staff working on site will have to show a negative lateral flow test taken the day before the awards.
Guests will be invited to check-in using the NHS Test and Trace QR Code.
Traffic light system
At the registration desks, we will be offering you the option to collect a red/amber/green wristband you can wear to indicate your greeting preferences to other guests:
Red: Please keep your distance and respect that I don’t wish to have physical contact
Amber: I am open to fist/elbow bumps
Green: I am open to handshakes and hugs
Social distancing will not be enforced but we are not running the event at full capacity, so there will be additional space at the venue. We also recommend that guests remain aware of spacing throughout the event and spread out as much as possible, especially at ‘crunch points’ such as arrival at the venue, registration, moving rooms, queuing for the bathrooms and at the end of the night when people are leaving. You do not need to wear a face mask when moving around the venue, but please do so if you feel more comfortable wearing one.
Hand sanitizer will be available for use at the entrance and key points throughout the venue.
Signage will be in place throughout the venue, providing clear guidance to guests on the systems and measures in place.
Doors will be propped open, or manned, to minimise touch points for guests.
Event Assistants will be on hand to answer any questions and guide guests through the venue.
Lift capacity has been reduced to one person per lift.
There is increased fresh air circulation throughout the venue as advised by PHE.
The venue spaces and event furniture including chairs, tables and lecterns, will be deep cleaned prior to our event.
Dedicated cleaning staff will be in attendance throughout our event paying particular attention to regular touch points such as door handles, staircase handrails and lift buttons.
A cleaning operative will be in attendance in the toilets for each break in the event and on arrival and departure.
Tablecloths for information or registration desks will be deep cleaned at the end of each event.
Guildhall recommends that face masks are worn when moving around the venue, but this is your choice.
Guests will be asked to sanitize their hands on entry to the building.
Bag checks will take place on arrival.
Guests will place their bags in the security scanner and collect once they have been cleared.
Please avoid bringing large bags with you where possible.
Cloakroom attendants will be wearing the necessary PPE and will be provided with sanitisers.
Catering staff will be provided with the necessary PPE for set up and service.
Caterers will provide additional sanitising points for catering areas.
Staff will be working in bubbles and will complete a health declaration before coming on site.
Guildhall staff will be working in separate teams to reduce regular contact with each other.
All staff have been fully trained on the hygiene measures in the venue.
Their onsite first aiders are trained in dealing with an incident during Covid-19 and an isolation room will be available should a guest develop symptoms on site.
Staff will be provided with PPE such as face masks where necessary.
We are required to retain contact details for our guests and store them securely after the event in case a guest reports symptoms of Covid-19. We will be storing guest data according to the latest government guidance.
Ticket terms and conditions
If you have booked an in-person ticket, test positive for Covid-19 prior within 48-hours of the event and as a result are unable to attend, we will convert your ticket into a virtual ticket. Unfortunately we are unable to offer any refunds.
Please note: The measures listed above are subject to change in accordance with government guidelines and are subject to change. The PIE cannot take any responsibility for anyone who becomes unwell or catches COVID-19 after the event.
